Crying Cow

"Crying Cow"
(or as I like to call it, "Georgia on Drugs")

This is the pinnacle of my studio career (so far).
Oil on canvas, 24"x34 1/2"

-Lilies symbolize humility, devotion, long-lasting relationships, and souls of the departed (as a funerary flower)

-Poppies symbolize sleep/rest, response, beauty, magic, consolation, and eternal life

-Sunflowers symbolize flexibility, opportunity, good luck, wealth, ambition, longevity, and warmth (as a flower of beauty)

-Daisies symbolize innocence, gentleness, and purity; white daisies symbolize common love

I channeled Georgia O'Keeffe as inspiration. I've always had a fascination with animal skulls, and love skull works with flowers. This was an open still life assignment, drawn and painted from life... I don't know how many hours it took! The image had to be slightly cropped due to camera warping.
